Power Point Designer

Department: Events
Location: Evanston, IL

PowerPoint Designer Job Purpose: The PowerPoint Designer is responsible for producing and editing presentations that achieve the objectives of the client’s project. The PowerPoint Designer will primarily be working in PowerPoint, but should be comfortable in Keynote. This event production specialist should be able to collaborate with clients, senior production crew and design staff to both produce and cleanup existing PowerPoint decks and Keynote presentations. Beyond preproduction execution, the PowerPoint Designer will be part of the event production crew, working on last minute deck changes.

 

PowerPoint Designer Duties: 

  • Create original presentations for client events using defined branding guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively in slide review sessions with executive level clients
  • Create slides elements using Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Coordination slide changes to hand off to other presentation specialists or designers
  • Cleanup presentations for client events using defined branding guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively in slide review sessions with client present
  • Create slides using supplied graphics and slide templates
  • Create slide templates
  • Attend meetings with production team to find solutions to presentation problems
  • Work with additional presentation specialists to manage workloads and workflow for large-scale productions
  • Contribute to the innovative development of the event department
  • Provide quality assurance of all deliverable

Skills/Qualifications: 

  • Well-developed communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Expert Level PowerPoint authoring and editing skills in current version and experience in last two versions of PowerPoint
  • Able to create original templates, slide masters, color themes, animations, and chart graphics
  • Strong experience in Keynote
  • Understanding of and experience in corporate branding, layout, color theory and typography in both digital and print media.
  • Ability to learn the strengths and limitations of presentation technology including aspect ratios, projectors, sound, and video equipment.
  • Understanding of image formats, resolution, and size.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Proven aptitude for quick creative thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines.
  • Ability and desire to work in both a corporate and production setting
  • Ability to maintain excellent customer facing attitude during long hours in high stress situations
  • Significant prior event production or presentation experience required
  • Able to explain and delegate creative production to other presentation or design specialists
  • Ability to edit Photos in Lightroom a Plus
